LEE ALLEN WOODARD
Lee Allen “Woodpecker” Woodard, 85, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 5, 2026, at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born at home in Robards, Kentucky, on June 9, 1941, to the late Hullett and Blondell Woodard. For over 30 years, Lee Allen was a truck driver with A&H Transportation/ANR Advance Transportation, from where he retired in 1998. He was a member of Corydon Missionary Baptist Church in Corydon, Kentucky, and had been attending The Bridge Church in Henderson, Kentucky. Lee Allen was also a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jon Allen Woodard, who died in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sandy Woodard; two daughters, Shelly Cartwright and her husband, Mike, of Dexter, Kentucky, and Jennifer O’Nan and her husband, Bryan, of Henderson, Kentucky; two sisters, Barbara Trigg and Marsha Alexander and her husband, Charles, both of Corydon, Kentucky; three grandchildren, David Cartwright and his wife, Tara, Morgan Peters and her companion, Ruben Salinas, and Kacie Peters; six great-grandchildren, Lucy Thomas, Royce Salinas, LeeAnne Humphrey, Payton Parker, Cameron Goolsby, and Cassidy Marez; and nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
