Please provide your family background (i.e. souse, children, grandchildren, pets). I’ve been married to my wife, Vickie, for 37 years. Together we have three adult children, Caleb, Chelsea, and Noah. We have two granddaughters who live in Nashville with their parents, Halle & Camryn
What is your educational background? (i.e. high school, GED, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctoral degree, etc.). Graduated HCHS in 1985, attended HCC 1986, and graduated from Oral Roberts University 1989 with a B.S. in Business Management
Have you been elected to a political office previously? If so, what office(s) and when did you hold those office(s)? Served as City Commissioner from 1998-2016, KY State Representative from 2017-18, and Ky State Senate from 2019 to present
What is your professional background? (Please include career and any boards and volunteer work). Entrepreneur and small businessman. Second generation owner of Nu-Look Cleaners, Founder of Nu-Look Restoration, own rental property and have served the community on a wide variety of boards and commissions throughout my 30+ years of community service
Why are you running for office?
If elected to office, what would be your top three goals?
1. To continue to work on lowering the Kentucky personal income tax to 0%. We have lowered it from 6% to 3.5% so far saving the average Henderson family approximately $2000 per year!
2. To continue to return Kentucky tax dollars back to NWKY in the form of substantial economic development and infrastructure projects like we have seen with the I-69 project, Audubon Conference Center and Pratt Industries
3. To continue to lead across the state on the vital subject of energy reliability and affordability. To stand up for the continued use of fossil fuels that supplies affordable and reliable energy for NWKY and the whole Big Rivers region!
Why should people vote for you?
The contacts and relationships that I have developed in the Kentucky Legislature helps NWKY remain very relevant in the conversation for so much, but especially economic development, infrastructure and budget appropriations. I am the 4th ranking Senator in the Republican Majority Caucus, which places me on the final budget committee, which is a great place to help NWKY every year!
Additionally, I have over 30 years of public and community service under my belt. I feel I understand our region of Kentucky and have placed my professional life on hold to represent NWKY and to make sure the “Golden Triangle” does not forget about the hard-working men and women in NWKY.
I work really hard to communicate through social media and my office returns calls and emails on a daily basis to help the folks of NWKY. I believe our rural Kentucky values are something worth standing up for and believe that our time-tested conservative principles such as hard work, limited government, and responsibility still have merit and are worth fighting for!
I am honored to serve as your State Senator and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve for another four years!!
