Kentucky Wesleyan College Students Test Positive for COVID-19

Owensboro, Ky. (April 14, 2020) – A residential and commuter student at Kentucky Wesleyan College have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19. The residential student moved out of the KWC residence halls on April 5 and both are currently self-isolating off campus.
As has been the case from the outset of the COVID-19 situation, the College is working with public health officials who are now following up with anyone who may have been potentially exposed through contact with these individuals.
If any member of the KWC community begins to experience symptoms, they should immediately contact the following:

As of April 6, the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan College was closed to all visitors until further notice. The College reminds our community to continue to be vigilant and follow CDC guidelines and everyday preventive actions related to the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses, including:
– Clean your hands often (Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands)
– Avoid close contact (Maintain appropriate Social Distancing of at least six-feet)
– Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others
– Cover coughs and sneezes
– Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
