At a recent meeting, the Rotary Club of Henderson recognized several members for their exceptional efforts to both Rotary and to Henderson. The Service Above Self Award which is given to a Rotarian who has contributes to the community in ways that meets the Club’s Service Above Self motto was awarded to Rotarian – Mary Dunham, Executive Director of Henderson Christian Community Outreach.
The Rotarian of the Year award which is given to a loyal, dedicated Rotarian, who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment of their time, talent and treasure throughout the past year was given to Kendra Marsh who has served as the Secretary of the Henderson Rotary Club for the prior four (4) years. Kendra is the Executive Director of St. Anthony’s Hospice. The Rotaract Club of Henderson named its President, Davis Hunter, as Rotaractor of the Year. Davis is an attorney with Dorsey, King, Gray & Hopgood.
On June 27, Rotary District 6710 announced its annual awards. From among the district’s 53 clubs (spanning from Paducah to Oldham County and including Louisville and Bowling Green), the Rotary Club of Henderson received the top award: Club of Distinction. The Club of Distinction Award is presented to the club in the district that exemplifies the spirit of Rotary through their involvement in all five avenues of service: Club, Community, Vocational, International and New Generations Further, as the Rotary Club of Henderson begins its 103rd year of service, Rotary was recognized as a Star Club for its continued support of the Rotary Foundation’s efforts to end polio and other diseases throughout the world.
The 2020-2021 Rotary Board was also installed at the July 2nd meeting. The new Rotary Board of Directors includes: President Amber Conville; Immediate Past President Dawn Kelsey; First Vice President (Programming) Jennifer Andrews; Second Vice President (Membership) Alex Caudill; Treasurer Kyle Fuller; Secretary Kendra Marsh; Sergeant at Arms Lori Tuggle; Rotary Foundation President Father Rich Martindale; Board Members Susan Blandford, Brian Crafton, Nick Gilliam, Eric Hoey, Nicholas Whitt, and Dwight Williams.
