Henderson, KY – Junior Achievement (JA) has received funding in the amount of $3,000, from Hydro Aluminum Henderson to support the implementation of JA programs, reaching a projected 3,000 Henderson and Holy Name students this school year.
Anders Lairet-Sorensen, Managing Director and other Hydro Aluminum leadership presented the donation to Tara Dixon, JA of Henderson board treasurer, and Dan Douglas, President of Junior Achievement of West Kentucky at the Hydro Aluminum plant in Henderson.
Anders Sorensen, Managing Director, stated, “Junior Achievement makes a difference in the lives of students by helping them prepare to succeed in a global economy. While we are not able to send Hydro volunteers to classrooms this year, we are doing our part to “Keep the Wheels Turning” for local students.”

Tara Dixon, JA of Henderson board member added, “These funds will help us reach our funding goal, allowing us to impact over 3,000 local students with a suite of financial literacy, work-readiness and career planning programs, focusing on skills that will empower them to: choose a job, get a job, and keep a job. We are so very grateful and fortunate for this new corporate partnership with Hydro Aluminum Metals!”
The mission of JA is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. They teach students in grades K-12 about work-readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programming.
