In a Facebook post, Kenergy has announced its Board of Directors has voted not to have a Member Appreciation Day in 2020. The Electric Cooperative that serves much of Western Kentucky says the decision was made due to health and safety concerns associated with COVID-19. The plan is to resume Member Appreciation Day in 2021. In previous years the event has attracted a large crowd of coop members from across the region drawn in by door prizes and giveaways.
On a related note, The Henderson Chamber of Commerce has issued a statement to its members concerning the annual State of the City and County event.
Chamber President and CEO Ellen Redding, says “After counsel with the Green River District Health Department, Deaconess Henderson, Mayor Austin, and Judge-Executive Schneider concerning the increasing number of positive COVID results in our community it has been determined that it would be wise to postpone the State of the City/State of the County.” Redding adds the Chamber will share more details when an alternative date has been determined.
