Henderson, KY. (June 2, 2021) – The Henderson Co. Democratic Executive Committee has elected its first female chairperson. The historic election of Kaycee Garner took place Wednesday night at the opening meeting of the new executive committee.
Garner (24), a native of Henderson, is the daughter of Steve and Pam Garner – both longtime educators. She recently completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and will begin coursework for a master’s degree in social work at the University of Southern Indiana this fall. Garner previously was the secretary of the committee, president of the Young Democrats of Henderson, and has worked on multiple campaigns over the last 5 years. She’s engaged to Dalton Inge, a teacher at Henderson Co. High School.
“I’m honored and humbled by the confidence placed in me by my fellow Democratic Committee members,” said Kaycee Garner. “I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside many of them and learning from them. Together, we now have the most diverse local committee in our party’s history and will work to make our community a better place.”
Other new committee members include Alex Caudill (vice-chair), Velvet Dowdy (secretary), Cameron Brown, Tasha Brown, Wayne Bugg, Brenna Caudill, Bryan Combs, David Curlin, Rosie Dodson, Kathy Grant, Grace Henderson, Jacob Martin, Herb McKee Sr., Raquel Resendiz, Dorsey Ridley, Martha Ryan, Sarah Stewart, and Nick Whitt.
The Henderson Co. Democratic Party says it advocates for working families, education, and equality for all.
The Executive Committee will meet again Monday, June 14th, at 6:30 pm at Rookie’s. All Democrats are welcome to attend.
