Henderson County Young Life has announced Andrea Dickens is the new Area
Director Interim, replacing Steve Treece who retired July 31st.
Dickens has been involved with Henderson Young Life for nine years, where she has been
involved as a Young Lives Leader, Capernaum Leader, and Young Life Leader.
She is married to Dax Dickens and they are parents to their seven year old twin boys,
Hunter and Colton. Andrea is a full-time Special Education teacher at Henderson
County High School.
Years ago Andrea was drawn to volunteer with the Young Life ministry because she loves
building relationships with youth, and that is the basis of Young Life.
As an Interim, Andrea is responsible for leading the Young Life leaders and supporters of
the local ministry. She is currently building relationships with high school students, in which
she and another leader were able to take a handful of them to camp this summer at
Clearwater Cove in Lampe, Missouri.
“Committee was thrilled when Andrea accepted the part time position as Interim for our
local Young Life Ministry,” said Danielle Crafton, Co-Chairperson for Henderson County
Young Life. Danielle continues “Andrea has such a big heart for kids and seeing them come
to find their true selves and introducing them to Jesus. She puts much thought and energy
into all she does and cares deeply for our community.”
Henderson Young Life Committee is actively working with Andrea and seeking a full time
Area Director in the meantime.
More information will follow with updates on activities for this coming season with Young
Life, Committee Member information, and an update on student involvement, as well as
ways to support the ministry. Young Life will have a prayer walk around Henderson County
High School at 6:00 PM on August 10. Community is welcome to join this event.
If you have any questions please contact Andrea at 812-430-1906 or
Younglifehenderson@gmail.com. Your support and prayers are always appreciated.
