Habitat of Henderson Provides Local Resident A Second Homecoming

Weber Family Habitat Home constructed on same lot family lived on in teen years

Henderson, KY, Oct. 17th, 2021. As a teenager, Justus Weber lived at a house on North Adams St. in Henderson. Little did she know that one day the very land she stood on as a teenager would be the site of her family’s forever home.

715 N. Adams St. (the original address that Ms. Weber lived at) has since been divided to create two Habitat home lots. 711 N. Adams St. will be home to the Weber Family and 715 N. Adams St. will be home to the Carter Family (their dedication will be on November 19th, 2021).

“I wholeheartedly believe that the Lord works in mysterious ways,” stated Britney Smith, Henderson Habitat Director. “The lot that the Weber & Carter Family’s will both be living on was donated by the Pittman Family, who were actually the people who owned the property when Ms. Weber and her family lived there in her youth. Now Ms. Weber will be raising her own family on that same piece of land, what a blessing.”

The Weber Family–Thomas Weber Jr., Justus Weber and their two sons Gideon (8), and Joel (2)–are overjoyed to be moving into their new Habitat home with its own backyard for the boys to play in. The family is even more elated that the City has a park and basketball courts just a block from their new home.

The Webers feel that God’s hand has been at work throughout this entire experience. They have scripture and well wishes written on the studs inside the walls of their Habitat home, two bibles were also placed in the blockwork when it was being installed (one by the front door and one by the back door) and they plan to paint their new front door yellow, a symbol of happiness, warmth and sunshine.

Dedication day for the Weber Family Home is Friday, October 22 at noon. The event will be hosted outside, but if it rains, the event will be moved inside the new home. All are welcome to join the event or watch it live on Henderson Habitat’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/hendersonhabitat.

This home could not have been built without the Pittman Family, Kentucky Housing Corporation, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and Field and Main Bank. We also want to thank our dedicated volunteer crew for their countless hours of volunteering on our job site and barn shop to help build this Home.
