HENDERSON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2021) – The Henderson Tourist Commission in partnership with the Ohio Valley Art League has announced the grand opening of Gallery 101 Art Gallery & Creative Space, scheduled to open its doors to the public for the first time on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. As a participating location for the Downtown Henderson Partnership’s annual Art Hop event, the gallery will be open until 9 p.m.
Gallery 101, located within The Depot Welcome Center at 101 North Water Street in Henderson, currently features an exhibition titled, “Celebrating the Arts: 30 Years!” and will offer six rotating exhibitions in 2022. Admission into the gallery is free.
Jordyn Myracle, executive director of the Ohio Valley Art League, has joined the Henderson Tourist Commission team as curator of Gallery 101. Myracle will plan and execute art exhibitions, workshops, and other programming throughout the year at Gallery 101. As part of the partnership between the Henderson Tourist Commission and Ohio Valley Art League, OVAL’s headquarters will move to The Depot.
“Our collaboration is years in the making, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Jordyn to our team and to share our beautiful new space with our community and its visitors,” said Abby Dixon, executive director of the Henderson Tourist Commission. “Gallery 101 will serve as an engaging attraction for visitors in a perfect location– our welcome center– and a real asset to those who call Henderson County home.”
Hours for Gallery 101 are Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A conference room is available onsite for local organizations to utilize.
Established in 1984, the Henderson Tourist Commission exists to promote Henderson and Henderson County as a destination for visitors. By marketing its assets to support tourism as an economic driver, staff and volunteers of the Tourist Commission serve as ambassadors of our community, creating meaningful experiences for visitors and residents alike.
