One person has been taken to the hospital following a multiple vehicle crash on Main Street.
Authorities say for an unknown reason a red pickup up ran into two parked cars in the 100 block of Main Street and then came to a stop after running into the storefront of
Abba’s Music. The driver of the pickup was transported to Deaconess Henderson to be checked for injuries. Their condition is unknown.
Fortunately, there was no one in the store or in the parked vehicles when the crash occurred. City Fire and Codes officials are checking the structural integrity of the building.
City police blocked the street while wrecker crews removed the damaged vehicles.
This is the second time in recent years that the downtown business has been damaged by a wayward vehicle. Abba’s owner Chris Kroger says it was September of 2018 when
an SUV crashed into the storefront as well.
Local officials say car versus structure type crashes seem to be on the rise. Last year another downtown business, the Elms Consignment, a block away from Abba’s on Elm Street lost half of its
storefront in a traffic crash. Just last week someone struck a building at the Henderson Housing Authority.
