Henderson Chamber Executive Director Posts Open Letter Announcing Impending Merger with Downtown Henderson Partnership

Dear Chamber of Commerce Member,
Greetings from the Chamber of Commerce! I have now been in my role as Chamber President for six weeks, and it has already been very busy and fulfilling. In that time, we have hosted ribbon cuttings and a Breakfast Club networking event that got 2022 started in a positive atmosphere for forming new relationships and collaborations. We have added five new members, and are diligently planning our upcoming 2022 Chamber events, with the Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast right around the corner in March.
In addition to all of this bustle of activity, we have been working on a concept that has yielded some exciting news for both the community and for you as a Chamber member, and I am happy to now be able to share it with you.
With the change in my position as Downtown Henderson Partnership executive director to Chamber of Commerce president, the boards of both organizations recognized their compatible roles in the business community and the potential for more collaboration. The organizations formed a sub-committee with representation from both boards to explore this idea in more detail. For about two months they worked with a concept focused on joining forces while discussing issues of membership, charters, by-laws and finances.
They ultimately decided that the concept should be the reality, and a merger is exactly what is going to happen starting April 1. DHP will come under the Chamber umbrella, but as a division of its own and with its own branding. It will join the Government Affairs, Agriculture, Membership and Education/Workforce committees in serving the membership and business community.
The mission of the Chamber remains the same: Advancing the business community in Henderson County. In addition to the work of the standing committees, I-69 corridor development and U.S. 41-North Strip viability remain at the forefront of our advocacy. At the same time, all of your favorite downtown events will still take place and downtown beautification will continue to be a priority. The identity of DHP will remain vibrant, and the Chamber will hire a new, full-time employee to assist with event planning.
With the merger there will be one membership for both organizations, which will greatly streamline things for those who currently invest in both organizations. Your one-stop membership will come with all of the excellent benefits, resources and sponsorship opportunities from both organizations!
We will have more information for you in the weeks to come, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me with questions.
I look forward to working with you and all of our members in 2022. Exciting things are ahead!
