November Grand Jury Releases Report

The Henderson County Grand Jury handed down 67 indictments during its recent November session. The 12-member investigative panel also referred seven cases to its December session and remanded three others to District court.

Among those indicted was former Henderson County school teacher Evan Harvey who has been indicted on four counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. The 27-year old Harvey is accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile student on multiple occasions throughout the 2018-19 school year. Harvey had worked at the Central Learning Academy during the 2018-2019 school year according to school officials. He was charged in September.

Also indicted was 26-year old Pascual Pascual who was arrested in September for rape first-degree stemming from an incident at the Saddlebrook Apartments. In a separate incident, 32-year old Matthew Decker has been indicted on a charge of rape third-degree. 39-year old Erica Pullum has been indicted on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse involving a minor under the age of 12.

In addition to numerous drug and theft-related cases, several true bills were handed down on charges of assault, wanton endangerment, and first-degree strangulation.

Arraignments for those indicted will be held at the Henderson County Judicial Center.

Keep in mind the indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is considered innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
