HENDERSON, KY (May 26, 2022) – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce and its Downtown committee are excited to announce the return of Porchfest on Saturday, June 4, from 5-8 pm on South Main Street in Henderson, Kentucky.
The free event will feature live music staged on the front porches and lawns of nine homes and the Henderson County Public Library along a four-block section of historic South Main Street between Washington and Jefferson Streets. The musicians will be playing a wide variety of music, from jazz to country and beyond, and Porchfest attendees will stroll from site to site at their own pace.
“Our new event coordinator, Clay Gillham, has really taken ownership over this event and I expect it to continue to grow in popularity within the community,” said Chamber President Lindsay Locasto. “It has been a great collaborative effort with our organization, the musicians, and the Main Street residents who have volunteered to host.”
Food trucks that will be set up at the event include Tom’s Smokin’ BBQ, Acropolis Express, The Chimi Truck, Kona Ice, Trappin Chicken, and Lolly’s Pops. They will be located on South Main near Jefferson Street, and in the Presbyterian Church parking lot at the intersection of Main and Washington Streets.
If you are planning to go, make sure to bring your own blanket or portable chair. This is an outdoor event, and the hosts’ homes will not be open to the public. Portable restrooms and handwashing stations will be available at each end of the event, both near Jefferson and Washington Streets.
