Wathen Lane bridge replacement project still in progress
HENDERSON, KY, December 3, 2019– The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the City of Henderson have extended the closure of Wathen Lane.
KYTC and the City have removed a substandard bridge in the 6900 block of Wathen Lane and have replaced it with a new box culvert system.
Officials say the project has been extended for an additional two weeks. A conflict over existing utilities in the area is what’s causing completion to be delayed. Wathen Lane is now scheduled to remain closed until Dec. 18.
You may recall the start of construction was also delayed due to issues with securing the necessary supplies for the bridge reconstruction.
There is a marked detour in place. Continue to make your travel plans accordingly.
