City now using contract meter readers

HENDERSON, KY, August 25, 2022- The City of Henderson has begun using an outside service to assist with reading the meters of utility customers.
The contract meter readers are supplementing the work of two meter readers who remain on staff. Contract meter readers can be identified with “utility services” printed on their clothing and/or safety vests. The company name
Bermex is on the vehicles used by the utility services contract employees.
City staff made the decision to hire the utility service contractor as the
challenging job market has made it more difficult to hire meter readers for the City staff.
