GLENN HOWARD 83 OF HENDERSON

DIED WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH, AT BRICKYARD WOODLAND NURSING FACILITY IN EVANSVILLE, IN.  HE WORKED WITH L&N RAILROAD AT HOWELL YARD, RAN A SHOP FOR CLAYSVILLE CONTRACTORS IN ZANESVILLE, OH, AND TAUGHT THE DIESEL MECHANIC PROGRAM AT DAVIESS COUNTY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL.  GLENN WAS A MASTER MECHANIC CHIEF ELECTRICIAN WITH MAPCO COAL AND RETIKI MINE FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS AND CONTINUED TO WORK FOR CUSTOM ENGINEERING AS SHOP FOREMAN.  HE FINISHED HIS CAREER BUILDING THE PREP PLANT FOR GREEN COAL COMPANY IN HEBBARDSVILLE. GLENN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS GRANDSONS, PHILLIP JACKSON HOWARD ll AND JOSHUA SCOTT HOWARD, AND BROTHERS, JIMMY, RAYMOND, JERRY AND DEAN HOWARD.

A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10AM ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH, AT BENTON-GLUNT & TAPP FUNERAL HOME.

BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT ROSELAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS

FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE INVITED TO GLENN’S LIFE CELBRATION FROM 5PM UNTIL 8PM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH, AND AGAIN ON SATURDAY FROM 9AM UNTIL SERVICE TIME.

DIED SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, AT ST. ANTHONY’S HOSPICE LUCY SMITH KING CARE CENTER.  SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF CAIRO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND WAS EMPLOYED AT EATON (DANA) CORPORATION FOR 37 YEARS.  MARGARET WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER BROTHERS, MICHAEL E. WHITMORE, AND INFANT, STARLING BROOK WHITMORE.
