HENDERSON, Ky. – The board of directors for the newly forming economic development agency for Henderson and Henderson County is accepting applications for its executive director position.
KYNDLE, the community’s combined economic development and chamber of commerce organization, is being reorganized at the end of December. The Henderson Chamber of Commerce will be reconstituted as an independent entity with Ellen Redding serving as president, while the economic development arm, which has yet to be given a name, will be doing the same but with a new executive. The new executive director will be charged with leading efforts to recruit new industry to Henderson and Henderson County, assisting existing industries here, and aiding local entrepreneurial, workforce, and educational initiatives.
“We need an energetic, hard-working person who’s familiar with Henderson to take on this important job,” said Tony Krampe, KYNDLE Policy Board Chairman and Henderson Market President for Old National Bank. Krampe will serve as chairman of the new economic development organization’s board. “Even more than technical experience, our board thinks having sincere passion for Henderson and our region as well as the willingness to collaborate with partners, build relationships, and communicate effectively are the key qualities we’re seeking in applicants.”
In addition to Krampe, members of the new economic development board include current KYNDLE board members Jennifer Keach, Communications Director for Big Rivers Electric Corp.; Bob McIndoo, Co-owner of Windimere Farms; and Richard Beaven, Co-owner of Air Hydro Power; as well as Dr. Jason Warren, President of Henderson Community College; Ben Johnston, President of Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group; Brian Hawkes, President of Audubon Metals; Leslye Krampe, Commercial Accounts & Economic Development Specialist at Kenergy; Tom Beckert, Vice President of Brenntag Mid-South; Brad Schneider, Henderson County Judge-Executive; and Steve Austin, Mayor of Henderson.
“I think we have a strong board of directors who all understand how crucial it will be to hire an effective, dynamic executive director,” Krampe said. “We’re all eager to find that person and then get to work doing what we can to help grow the economy here.”
