The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Muhlenberg County Mustangs on the road in Greenville.

 

In the first period, the Colonels outscored the Mustangs 12-5, as Colonels senior guard Gerard Thomas scored 7 points in the quarter. In the second period, the Colonels outscored the Mustangs 11-9, as the Colonels held a 9 point lead over the Mustangs at halftime with the score 23-14.

 

To begin the second half, the Colonels would outscore the Mustangs 16-9, as the Colonels would hold a 39-23 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth and final quarter, both teams would score 18 points each, as the Colonels would come away with a 16 point win over the Mustangs with the final score 57-41. The Colonels improve to (16-7) on the season while the Mustangs fall to (5-18).

 

The leading scorer for the Colonels was senior guard Gerard Thomas with 15 points while shooting 6 for 8 from the free throw line on the night. Sophomore guard Cooper Davenport scored 14 points while knocking down 3 three pointers while sophomore guard Lacon McKinney contributed 10 points. Senior forward Jake Rideout tallied 6 points while junior guard Alec Satterfield recorded 6 points. Sophomore guard Dwaine Moss added 4 points while sophomore forward Trajdon Davis tallied 2 points on the night.

As a team, the Colonels knocked down 4 three pointers and shot 9 for 15 from the free throw line on the night. 

 

The Colonels next game will be tomorrow afternoon, February 4th, on the road in Owensboro at the SportsCenter as the Colonels will take on the McCracken County Mustangs at 4:20 P.M.
