Kentucky Arts Council seeking art submissions from Asian American and Pacific Islander artists

Asian, Asian-American and Pacific Islander artists in Kentucky can submit their visual art for consideration in a new traveling exhibit.

The Kentucky Arts Council, in partnership with Asia Institute-Crane House and the Kentucky Chinese American Association, is seeking the submissions by February 28th.

The goals of this exhibit are to share Asian American and Pacific Islander experiences in the commonwealth today, and recognize the artistic expressions these individuals, families and communities contribute to Kentucky’s cultural landscape.

Artwork will be chosen by a panel of Asian and Asian American Kentuckians and other cultural specialists. This exhibit will travel to art centers, galleries, museums and other public venues across the commonwealth from May 2023 through May 2024.

Anyone with questions can email Arts Council Folk and Traditional Arts Director Mark Brown at mark.brown@ky.gov or call 502-892-3115.

If you would like assistance with translating the guidelines and application, contact Asia Institute-Crane House at (502) 635-2240 or email ama@cranehouse.org.
