Two men injured in vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon

Two men were injured Tuesday afternoon after a collision between a dump truck and a tractor trailer.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to Kentucky 425 just east of Kentucky 1299 for an accident with injuries between a dump truck and a semi-tractor trailer at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday. The tractortrailer reportedly had the cabs ripped off.

After speaking with witnesses, law enforcement determined that John Stephan Fancher Jr., 62, was driving a 2001 Sterling dump truck going east when his front tire blew out, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

The dump truck crossed into the westbound lane, colliding with a 2015 Kenworth semi operated by Cody Wayne Webb, 23, of Henderson. The semi’s cab was ripped off the frame of the truck, coming to a rest in the roadway. The dump truck stopped in the emergency lane facing east.

Fancher needed to be extricated from the dump truck and taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for his injuries. Webb was transported to Deaconess Henderson Hospital for a leg injury.

American Medical Response, Niagara Fire Department, Cairo Fire Department, Henderson City-County Rescue, Henderson County Emergency Management Agency, and State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement also responded at the scene.
