While no specifics are being released – something big is apparently brewing.
Both the Henderson City Commission and the Henderson County Fiscal Court have scheduled a joint
special called executive session for 4-pm next Tuesday. Joining them will be members of the Henderson
Water and Sewer Commission. The closed-door meeting will take place in the third-floor assembly room
of the City Building.
Public notices from the Fiscal Court and Water & Sewer Commission state the focus of the joint
meeting is to hold discussions with a representative of a business entity and discussions concerning a
specific proposal that, if held in open session, would jeopardize the siting, retention, expansion or
upgrading of the business. Such private discussions are permitted by Kentucky revised statute 61.810.
The County’s notice goes on to say no voting matters are expected at this time.
As WSON News reported previously, Governor Andy Beshear and Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman
are both expected to be in Henderson before the end of the month to make a major economic development announcement.
And while no specifics have been divulged WSON News has been informed by several credible sources that Henderson is on the verge
of something which will have a significant impact on not only the community but also the region’s economy.
It goes without saying such an announcement has long been awaited.
As we get more details, we will pass them on to you here on WSON.
