Ohio Valley Art League 2022 Kentucky National Wildlife Exhibit

Ohio Valley Art League (OVAL) in conjunction with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife
Resources have set the dates for the Biennial 2022 Kentucky National Wildlife Art (KNWA) Exhibit at the
Preston Art Center.

Jule McClellan, founder and former Executive Director of OVAL, was asked by OVAL’s Board of Directors
to take-on the role of Curator Emeritus to assist new Executive Director, Samantha Ehrhart, in this
endeavor. McClellan brought the Kentucky National Wildlife Art exhibit to fruition in 1991.

“I am pleased to accept the appointment as Curator Emeritus of the 2022 Kentucky National Wildlife Art
exhibit. I look forward to working with OVAL’s new Executive Director Samantha Ehrhart, toward the
creation of another national wildlife exhibition, showcasing some of the regional and the United States
most accomplished wildlife artists”. Jule McClellan

The collaboration with the Ohio Valley Art League and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife
Resources is important to Henderson and the Commonwealth of Kentucky as it plays tribute to John
James Audubon’s time in Henderson, Kentucky, calling attention to the preservation of wildlife and its
habitat.

The juror for this year’s show will be Marie McGhee, Director of the Art Institute at Arizona Sonora
Desert Museum. Marie oversees the management of the traveling permanent art collection, the
curation of eight or more shows per year in the Art Institute’s two galleries, and the delivery of over 200
art classes. Marie has almost two decades of experience in leading lifelong learning programs, including
oversight of programs at the University of New Mexico’s Division of Continuing Education.

“The Kentucky National Wildlife Art show ranks among the top three juried wildlife art exhibitions in the
country.” states DeVere Burt, Director Emeritus of Cincinnati Museum of Natural History. “It is
accompanied by “Birds in Art”, and the Society of Animal Artists annual juried exhibit. The quality of the
Kentucky National is well known among artists who aspire to be juried into all three important events.”
OVAL and the KNWA Awards Committee has presented in past years over $13,000 in awards
sponsorships to wildlife artists.

Additional details and the prospectus will be available soon on OVAL’s
website www.ohiovalleyart.org. If you need the prospectus mailed to you or have any questions, please
contact Jule McClellan, Curator Emeritus at 270-860-1930.
