Player of the game for the Lady Colonels was junior left fielder Alyse Rollings. I asked Alyse how she felt like she performed in the game and she responded with this, “I felt like tonight was a super good game. We just came off of playing two games and this game we just came in with the mentality of like we’re going to go out and leave all we have left on the field tonight and that was just everybody’s mindset going in. That’s what I went in with was just leaving the rest out on the field today for our last game this week.”

Henderson County Lady Colonels head coach Shannon Troutman talked about his team’s performance, “We played good. We did what we were supposed to do. We wanted to come here and make an impressive performance and I’m glad they did, I’m glad my kids showed up. That’s three games in a row, three days in a row and it’s not always easy playing three days in a row but they showed up today and I’m proud of them.” Coach Troutman also discussed how well his team is hitting the home run this season, “We don’t preach the home run ball, we preach good clean contact, solid contact and the girls just hit the ball hard and good things will happen, you keep hitting it hard the ball will go out of the park.”

Webster County Lady Trojans head coach Jason Scott talked about his observations on the game, “We just left them in it too long. When you leave a good hitting team in it that long they’re going to hit’em out of the park on you and make you pay for it. We had a lot of plays early we should’ve made. We should’ve been out of the first 2 innings, it should’ve been a 4-0 ballgame and we didn’t make the routine plays, left them in it and they took advantage and put it on us. That’s how it goes.”

The Lady Colonels next 6th District game will be at home on Tuesday night, May 2nd, at 6:00 P.M.
