Henderson County Lady Colonels Senior Jarie Thomas Commits to Lindsey Wilson College

On Monday afternoon, April 24th, Lady Colonels senior basketball player Jarie Thomas signed to continue her academic and athletic career for the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders.

 

Thomas talked about why Lindsey Wilson College was the best fit for her, “I just truly enjoyed the campus and the coaches and I just really felt at home there and I knew that’s where I was supposed to be.”

 

Thomas discussed her academic plans while attending Lindsey Wilson College, “I’m either going to pursue marketing or education, still trying to decide between those right now.”

 

Thomas discussed how it feels to be officially signed to be a college basketball player now, “It is very relieving. It felt like a weight was lifted off of me, I can just enjoy the fact that I’ve made my decision and be proud of myself and happy with it.”

Thomas talked about who she wanted to thank that made this day possible, “Just all of my teammates, my family, my friends, and especially my coaches.”

 

Thomas discussed what made her want to sign and play basketball at the college level at Lindsey Wilson College, “I’ve wanted to play college basketball ever since I started playing and just I really know they have a winning program there and after playing at Henderson County I truly enjoy being on a winning program and I just hope I’m able to continue that at my collegiate career.” 

 

Jarie Thomas played 5 seasons for the Lady Colonels. In that time Jarie racked up 1,274 points which is 13th all time in Lady Colonel basketball history. She also grabbed 736 career rebounds which is 4th all time and 157 assists. She recorded 180 steals and 181 blocks which is 2nd all time. Jarie shot 525-1029 (51%) from the field, 12-38 (32%) from three, and 212-280 (76%) from the free throw line in her career. Jarie was a part of 5 regional championships, 3 district championships, 2 Final Four teams and achieved a 4.0 GPA.
