Player of the game for the Lady Colonels was senior shortstop JaMaya Byrum. I asked JaMaya how she felt like she performed in the game and how her team played and she responded with this, “I’m really proud of our team. We have a great team dynamic, just the way we come out no matter who’s playing. We’ve learned a lot this season so I’m incredibly proud of the way we’ve just taken our ups and downs and kind of learned from it. We’ve adjusted a lot in practice, done a lot of things to fix key problems and it’s turned out a lot better this season.”

Henderson County Lady Colonels head coach Shannon Troutman talked about his team’s performance, “Well I’m proud of the girls. They came out and they did what I expected them to do and they did what they’re good enough to do and they played the way they can and I’m proud of them.” Coach Troutman talked about his sophomore pitcher on the mound Anna Kemp and how she played in the shutout, “Let me tell you she’s a bulldog. She’s got great stuff and she’s going to continue to just get better, that’s what is unbelievable she’s only a sophomore, so I’m extremely proud of her.”

Webster County Lady Trojans head coach Jason Scott talked about his observations on the game, “Well it was a lot better than last time. We still made a few too many mistakes, and gave them too many extra runs. Should’ve stayed in it a lot longer than that, didn’t make the adjustments at the plate like I asked them to. She was (Anna Kemp) painting that outside corner low first pitch a lot of times and we were watching too many of them, we weren’t being aggressive early at the plate like I been talking about in practice and just took a loss again.”
