On Wednesday afternoon, May 3rd, Braves senior basketball player Izaiah Manuel signed to continue his academic and athletic career for the Kentucky Christian University Knights.

Manuel talked about why Kentucky Christian University was the best fit for him, “I talked to Coach (Charlie) Pack after senior showcase one day and he was breaking everything down for me, he was telling how much to pay for school and I have to pay very little for school so I feel like it was the best bet for me and my mom and my dad really liked it up there so that’s why I committed there.”

Manuel discussed his academic plans while attending Kentucky Christian University, “I’m going to study business, something around that field business.”

Manuel talked about how it feels to be officially signed to be a college basketball player now, “This is just a dream come true. As a kid, all I wanted to do was play basketball at the next level and like now it’s just truly a blessing.”

Manuel talked about who he wanted to thank that made this day possible, “I’d like to thank God and my mom. Mostly because without my mom I don’t feel like none of this is possible, without God none of this is possible. When I always had a negative attitude my mom was always there to pick me up and do things for me and get me to tournaments so I would just like to thank her.”

Manuel discussed what made him want to sign and run track at the college level at Kentucky Christian University, “Two people that I’m very close to are going to play basketball there and I mean I feel like playing with them it will make it easier to fit into the environment. Also me and Coach Pack’s bond has been great and I’ve only known him for a month so I feel like having that great bond with Coach Pack will be 100 percent good at Kentucky Christian.”

Izaiah Manuel finished with 1,780 career points in his 4 seasons with the Union County Braves boys basketball team. Izaiah also played football and golf throughout his high school career.
