Player of the game for the Lady Colonels was freshman pitcher Mackenzie Burczyk. I asked Mackenzie how she felt like she performed in the game and how her team played and she responded with this, “Our team definitely played great. Coming from either from faster pitching the night before (against Union County) and then having to come and face a little bit slower pitching, making the adjustments at the plate. Even our JV team coming up and also coming in and stepping (up) and hitting. Pitching was amazing also from Anna Kemp, and then myself, and even Ava Eblen who came in.”

Henderson County Lady Colonels head coach Shannon Troutman talked about his team’s performance, “The girls were not really dialed in. We think there’s problems with getting up early in the tournament. So I think we’ll be ready come Monday, I think they’ll have more enthusiasm and ready to play Monday.”

The Lady Colonels will play in the 2nd Region Softball Tournament Semifinals on Monday night, May 22nd, at 7:30 P.M. in Madisonville against the winner of the Madisonville North-Hopkins Lady Maroons Vs. the Lyon County Lady Lyons.
