Earlier this morning, Braves wrestler Glenn Mayes signed to continue his athletic career wrestling for the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers.

Mayes talked about why Kentucky Wesleyan College was the best fit for him, “The coaches are extremely nice, straightforward, and they have everything I look for in a coach. It’s close to family only an hour away, small campus, (will) probably feel just like home.”

Mayes discussed his academic plans while attending Kentucky Wesleyan College, “I plan on majoring in pre-K through 12th (grade) education and becoming a PE teacher.”

Mayes discussed how it feels to be a college wrestler now, “It feels amazing, I’m ready to take that next step.”

Mayes talked about who he wanted to thank that made this day possible, “I’d like to thank my family, coaches, the community, and just everybody who’s helped propel me to where I’m at.”

Mayes discussed what made him want to sign and wrestle at Kentucky Wesleyan College, “I’ve wrestled my whole life since I was 4, so 14 years and its just always been apart of me, it has helped me as a person, helps me grow, I’m just excited.”
