The first Player of the game for the Colonels was senior pitcher Dru Meadows. I asked Dru how he felt like he performed on the mound and he responded with this, “Man I just I was feeling my stuff tonight, I was hitting my spots. They hit the ball, they just ended up hitting it right to us and we got lucky and we made some good plays and we just had our game and it was awesome.”

The second Player of the game for the Colonels was senior second baseman Brennan Cates. I asked Brennan how he felt like he performed at the plate and about his grand slam and he responded with this, “We did our job as a team. We kept on putting pressure, getting on base, and I got a pitch that I liked and put it over the fence.”

The Colonels will take on the 10th Region Champion, the Harrison County Thorobreds on Saturday afternoon, June 3rd, at 4:00 P.M. in the Elite 8 of the 2023 State Baseball Tournament in Lexington at Counter Clocks Field.
