The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of western Kentucky, southwest Indiana, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
Numerous flash flood warnings and emergencies are in effect for considerable to catastrophic flooding. It may take quite some time for water to recede in areas that received 6 to 10-plus inches of rain Wednesday morning.
A few thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. A strong storm with gusty winds and hail can`t be ruled out. Additional thunderstorms are possible overnight Wednesday.
The potential for thunderstorms, a few locally strong to severe, and localized flooding will continue into Thursday and possibly Friday.
The National Weather Service encourages weather spotters to report any flooding, rainfall amounts, storm damage, or hail.
