The City of Henderson won the Community of the Year Award from the Green River Area Development District.
The award was given for the effort being made by the City of Henderson with the creation of the Inner City Improvement Plan.
City of Henderson members accepted the award during GRADD's 55th annual meeting, which was held Wednesday outdoors on the Owensboro Riverfront.
The GRADD Board is chaired by Webster County Judge-Executive Steve Henry. Union County Judge-Executive Adam O'Nan received the Wendell Ford Legislative Leadership Award at the meeting.
