The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Christian County Colonels at home at Colonel Stadium on senior night.

 

The Christian County Colonels would be the first to strike on a 7 play, 54 yard drive that resulted in a 15 yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Jordan Miles, as after the failed 2 point conversion, Christian County would have an early 6-0 lead with 8:38 to play in the first quarter. The Henderson County Colonels would respond on the next possession on a 2 play, 50 yard drive that ended with a 37 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Max Thompson to senior wide receiver Jackson Pendergraft, as after the made PAT, Henderson County would take the 7-6 lead with 8:19 to play in the first quarter. Henderson County would force a turnover on downs and then execute on a 2 play 40 yard drive that resulted in a 5 yard touchdown run by junior running back Tony Burrus, as after the successful 2 point conversion, the HC Colonels would extend their lead to 15-6 with 5:23 to play in the first quarter. After a turnover by each team, Christian County would respond on a 2 play, 63 yard drive with a 64 yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Jordan Miles, after the failed 2 point conversion, the HC Colonels would still have a 15-12 lead over Christian County with 1:11 to play in the first quarter. The HC Colonels would respond with a 8 play, 65 yard drive that resulted in a 1 yard touchdown run by sophomore running back Jack Ryan Reusch, after the made PAT, the HC Colonels would extend their lead to 22-12 with 9:40 to play in the first half. The HC Colonels would force Christian County to punt on their next drive and then the HC Colonels would execute with a 3 play, 57 yard drive that ended with a 52 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Max Thompson to senior wide receiver Koien Banks, as after the made PAT, Henderson County would extend their lead to 29-12 with 4:54 to play in the first half. The HC Colonels would force a turnover downs and then execute on their next drive with a 2 play, 60 yard drive with a 64 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Max Thompson to senior wide receiver Koien Banks, as after the made PAT, Henderson County would extend their lead to 36-12 with 1:15 to play in the first half. At halftime, the HC Colonels would have a 36-12 lead over the Christian County Colonels.

 

The HC Colonels would score first in the second half on a 4 play, 49 yard drive with a 38 yard touchdown pass by senior quarterback Max Thompson to senior wide receiver Jackson Pendergraft, as after the made PAT, the HC Colonels would extend their lead over Christian County to 43-12 with 6:26 to play in the third quarter. Christian would answer back with a 3 play, 63 yard drive that ended with a 67 yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Jordan Miles, as after the failed 2 point conversion, the HC Colonels would still hold a 43-18 lead with 5:35 to play in the third quarter. The HC Colonels would strike right back with a 4 play, 42 yard drive that resulted in a 3 yard touchdown run by junior running back Tony Burrus, as after the made PAT, the HC Colonels would extend their lead to 50-18 with 4:39 to play in the third quarter. The Christian County Colonels would then strike back on a 5 play, 80 yard drive that ended with a 35 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jordan Miles to senior wide receiver Prince Northington, as after the failed 2 point conversion, Christian County would cut the deficit to 50-24 with 3:37 to play in the third quarter. The HC Colonels would be the next to score on a 4 play, 62 yard drive that resulted in a 43 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Max Thompson to senior wide receiver Koien Banks, as after the made PAT, the HC Colonels would extend their lead to 57-24 with 11:54 to play in the game. The HC Colonels defense would force a turnover on downs and then execute it into points on a 8 play, 70 yard drive that ended with a 5 yard touchdown run by junior running back Tony Burrus, as after the made PAT, the HC Colonels would extend their lead over Christian County to 64-24 with 6:16 to play in the game. Christian County would respond right back with a 6 play, 90 yard drive that resulted in a 70 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jordan Miles to senior wide receiver Prince Northington, as after the successful 2 point conversion, the HC Colonels would still hold a 64-32 lead over Christian County with 2:38 to play in the game. The HC Colonels would then run the clock out and come away with a dominant 32 point win over the Christian  County Colonels on senior night at Colonel stadium. The Henderson County Colonels improve to (4-5) on the season while the Christian County Colonels fall to a (2-7) record. 

 

HC Colonel senior quarterback Max Thompson was 9 for 15 with 279 yards and 5 touchdown passes on the night. Junior running back Tony Burrus rushed 26 times for 220 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on the night. Senior wide receiver Koien Banks had 4 receptions for 157 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns while senior wide receiver Jackson Pendergraft had 3 receptions for 87 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns on the night. 

 

The HC Colonels as a team, had 215 yards rushing and 279 yards passing for a total of 494 yards of offense on the night. The HC Colonel’s defense allowed Christian County to 175 yards rushing and 235 passing yards for a total of 410 yards of total offense on the night, as the HC Colonels forced 2 fumbles and recovered both, 2 punts, and allowed Christian County to get 17 first downs. The HC Colonels had 9 penalties for 99 yards while Christian County had 13 penalties for 117 yards on the night.

 

The HC Colonels final regular season game will be on the road next Friday night, October 27th, at Rash Stadium taking on the Owensboro Red Devils with the kickoff at 7:00 P.M.
