PAUL D. COOMES   80       OF HENDERSON

DIED THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH, AT WELLINGTON PARC NURSING HOME IN OWENSBORO.

PAUL WAS A MEMBER OF HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, HOLY NAME MEN’S CLUB, AND ST. VINCENT DEPAUL. IN HIS YOUNGER YEARS PAUL WAS IN A FAST DRAW GUN CLUB WHICH HE EARNED SEVERAL TROPHIES. PAUL WAS A CONDUCTOR FOR THE CSX RAILROAD UNTIL RETIREMENT. 

HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BROTHER, WILLIAM JOSEPH COOMES.

11 GRANDCHILDREN AND MANY GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE HELD AT 12PM ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21ST, AT HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH FATHER RICHARD MEREDITH OFFICIATING.

BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT ST. LOUIS CEMETERY

FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE INVITED TO PAUL’S LIFE CELEBRATION FROM 4PM UNTIL 8PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH, WITH A ROSARY SERVICE BEING HELD AT 7:30PM AND AGAIN FROM 9AM UNTIL 11:30AM ON TUESDAY AT BENTON-GLUNT & TAPP FUNERAL HOME

JERRY KEITH HAMILTON                66       OF HENDERSON

DIED THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH, AT REDBANKS SKILLED NURSING CENTER UNDER THE CARE OF ST. ANTHONY’S HOSPICE.  JERRY ATTENDED SOUTH SPENCER HIGH SCHOOL IN ROCKPORT. HE LATER ATTENDED THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT FOR ADULT EDUCATION AND LITERACY AND WAS AWARDED HIS HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY DIPLOMA.  LATER JERRY JOINED THE NAVY AND WAS STATIONED IN CALIFORNIA DURING HIS SERVICE. AFTER HIS DISCHARGE, HE JOINED THE INDIANA LABORERS UNION LOCAL 561 AND WORKED IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN SOUTHERN INDIANA AND WESTERN KENTUCKY FROM WHICH HE RETIRED AFTER 30 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME, JERRY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT AND WORK ON ASCENSION ISLAND.  AFTER RETIREMENT, HE BEGAN HIS PAINTING BUSINESS AND HAD MANY CLIENTS THROUGHOUT THE REGION.  JERRY WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BELOVED WIFE AND BEST FRIEND, THELMA CARTER; AND THEIR DOGGIE, WILLIE; AND HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW, MICHAEL MABEE OF HENDERSON.

HIS STEP-DAUGHTER         TAMMY

HIS GOOD FRIEND              DANNY

A PRIVATE FAMILY GATHERING AND INURNMENT WILL BE HOSTED AT A LATER DATE.
