Henderson City Commission approved the purchase of Old Corydon Road property for future economic development site


HENDERSON, Ky. – The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday afternoon, January 23, 2024.

The Board of Commissioners:

  • Recognized new City of Henderson employees.
  • Heard a presentation from the I-69 Team, KYTC, & Ragle, Inc. regarding enhancements to the Highway 351 interchange.
  • Approved a consent agenda with minutes from the January 9, 2024, regular meeting, the January 12, 2024, special called meeting with Water & Sewer Commission, resolution approving Human Resources Report, resolution appointing Bradley S. Staton to PEAK board, and municipal order approving mutual aid assistance agreement with Ohio Township Fire Department.
  • Approved the second reading of a zoning ordinance amendment relating to shipping containers.
  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the City’s tax moratoriums.
  • Awarded a municipal bid for Wathen Lane roadway construction to
  • Approved extension of the agreement for operations and maintenance of the Bridges Golf Course.
  • Authorized the sale of surplus real property located at 228 and 230 North Alvasia Street and 720 Third
    Street.
  • Approved the purchase of real property located at 2340 Old Corydon Road which includes approximately 54 acres of land for future economic development site.
  • Approved an MOU with Henderson Water Utility concerning the acquisition of real property at 2340 Old Corydon Road which includes approximately 54 acres of land for future economic development site.

 

The City Attorney’s report included:

  • Ordinance review relating to dogs in public areas.
  • Ordinance review relating to short term reviews.

 

The date for the next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the third-floor Assembly Room of the Henderson Municipal Center.
