City of Henderson proclaims its National FFA Week


HENDERSON, Ky. – The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday afternoon, February 13th, 2024.

The Board of Commissioners:

  • Issued a proclamation designating the week of February 17th through February 24th, 2024, as National
    FFA Week. Ms. Lorelei Duncan, FFA President, and Mr. J.T. Payne, FFA Faculty Advisor, were in
    attendance to receive the proclamation.
  • Recognized new City of Henderson employees and presented a 25-year service award to Beth Austin.
  • Heard a presentation United Way of Henderson County regarding the 2024 Local Government Economic Assistance Funding.
  • Approved a consent agenda with minutes from the January 16th, 2024 work session/strategic goal planning retreat and the January 24th regular meeting.
  • Approved resolution approving Human Resources Report dated February 13th, 2024.
  • Approved resolution approving Henderson Emergency Services Wrecker Service Agreement.
  • Approved a municipal order approving mutual aid assistance agreement with the City of Booneville,
    Indiana.
  • Approved the second reading of an ordinance amending the City’s Tax Moratoriums.
  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the job classification and play plan for BY2024 to reclassify the position of Public Information Officer to Public Relations Director.
  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending Chapter 6- Animals, Article II Dogs of the Code of Ordinances which addresses the issue that dogs are not permitted to run at large but must be on a leash
    or similar device when not on its own premises.
  • Approved a municipal order annexing 2340 Old Corydon Road.
  • Awarded a bid for purchase and installation of trees for the Sports Complex to Stocker’s Landscaping LLC of Evansville, Indiana in the amount of $29,835.
  • Announced the appointment of Dylan Ward as Assistant City Manager effective Monday, March 4th, 2024.

The date for the next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 13th, 2024. It will take place in the third-floor Assembly Room of the Henderson Municipal Center.
