Henderson City Police Chief announces resignation

HENDERSON, KY, – Effective Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, Chief Sean McKinney is resigning from his position as Chief of Police for the Henderson Police Department.

Due to recent family health issues, McKinney will take a leave of absence to devote his time to personal matters. He will remain an employee of the City of Henderson Police Department with the rank of Police
Officer.

“I have enjoyed my time as Police Chief for our department and I am so proud of the work we have done for the citizens of our community,” said McKinney. “I look forward to seeing the Henderson Police
Department move forward and anticipate remarkable police work from our officers.”

Upon his return from a leave of absence, McKinney will serve as a School Resource Officer at the beginning of next school year.
