The Union County Braves would come away with a 7 point win over the Webster County Trojans, 63-56, at Colonel Gym in the semifinals of the 6th District Tournament.
The leading scorers for the Braves was Cale Johnson with 16 points and 4 steals while Daishawn Curry had 13 points and 3 rebounds. Jaidyn Wilson had 10 points and 14 rebounds while Cameron Miller had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Cortayvion Rapier scored 8 points and 3 rebounds while Jarren Johnson added 6 points and 4 assists on the night.
The leading scorers for the Trojans Deshawn Murphy with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals while Evan Michalek had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Micah Austin had 9 points while Jarvis Starks Scott scored 8 points, 6 steals, and 3 rebounds. Malakai Orcutt scored 4 points and 4 rebounds while Luke Garrard tallied 2 points and 5 assists. Trace Hardison added 2 points while Evan Davis scored 1 point on the night.
The Braves shot 17 for 25 (68%) from the free throw line to the Trojans 13 for 17 (76%). The Braves shot 2 for 7 (29%) from behind the three point line to the Trojans 7 for 31 (23%). The Braves had a total of 31 rebounds while the Trojans had 26 total rebounds in the game. The Braves recorded 8 assists, 6 steals, and 2 blocks while the Trojans recorded 14 steals, 12 assists, and 3 blocks. The Braves committed 17 turnovers to the Trojans committing 10 turnovers on the night.
The Braves improve to (13-16) on the season while the Trojans season ends with a (15-13) record.
