Corn hole tournament to be held during Tri-Fest


The annual Breakfast Lions Club Tri-Fest will also feature a corn hole tournament this year.

The corn hole tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Firedome Pizza and Wings in the Lumberyard Events Center.  Competitors will be competing for prize money supported by local businesses.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit The Gathering Place – Henderson Senior Center. The local senior center in Henderson is the hub of the meals on wheels program along with providing a safe haven for local seniors to have a warm meal, play bingo, exercise, and socialize with others.

“We are fortunate to have been chosen as the recipient for this annual fundraising opportunity in partnership with the biggest festival in our community,” said The Gathering Place Executive Director Bill Rhodes. “We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to having a competitive day of corn hole to raise funds for our local seniors.”

Registration for the cornhole tournament is open and runs through the day of the tournament. Sign-ups will be permitted the day of the event.

The cost per two-person team is $60 if signed up by April 15th. The cost increases to $75 after April 15th, and participants will need to sign up the day of the event.

The tournament will be officiated and monitored by the 270 Cornhole organization. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21, with play beginning at 1 p.m.

Prize money will be awarded. The top winner will win one thousand, second place finisher will win five hundred, and third place finisher will win two hundred dollars.
