The Henderson County Colonels came away with a 17 point win over the Trigg County Wildcats, 66-49, in the opening round of the 2nd Region Tournament at Hopkinsville High School in Hopkinsville.

The leading scorers for the Wildcats was Jhaden Vaughn with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks while Jerimyah Shearer had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Landon Stewart had 11 points while Devari Gude had 9 points and 5 rebounds. Khamani Bush scored 2 points while Caleb Fogle added 2 points on the night.

The leading scorers for the Colonels was Alec Satterfield with 23 points, 8 assists, and 9 steals while Max Thompson had 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Cooper Davenport had 13 points while Dwaine Moss added 6 points and 4 steals. Yusef Sanogo-Kendrick scored 4 points and recorded 4 rebounds while Elijah Suggs had 4 points. To round out the scoring, Lacon McKinney tallied 2 points and 3 rebounds on the night.

The Wildcats shot 5 for 8 (62%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 6 for 7 (86%). The Wildcats shot 6 for 16 (37%) from behind the three point line to the Colonels 4 for 21 (19%). The Wildcats had a total of 31 rebounds while the Colonels had 26 total rebounds in the game. The Wildcats recorded 15 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks while the Colonels recorded 18 steals, 12 assists, and 3 blocks. The Wildcats committed 28 turnovers to the Colonels committing 8 turnovers on the night.

The Colonels improve to (25-6) on the season while the Wildcats end their season with a (12-20) record.
