Lane Restrictions on Northbound Twin Bridge Wednesday

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 03, 2024) – The northbound U.S. 41 Twin Bridge will be restricted to one-lane during the day today, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet conducts annual maintenance.

KYTC was scheduled to clean drains on the bridge yesterday, but mother nature did not cooperate, forcing the work to be rescheduled.

Bridge drains not only help keep the roadway clear of water during heavy rains, they help to protect the structural integrity of a bridge by carrying away road salt and other substances that can potentially be corrosive to metal and concrete if left unattended. Annual maintenance to clear road debris that can block the drainage system is necessary.

Lane restrictions will be in place during daytime hours, but normal traffic flow should resume by the end of the day.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
