Lane Restrictions on Continue on Twin Bridges

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 04, 2024) – The northbound US 41 Twin Bridge will once again be restricted to one-lane this morning, Thursday, April 4, 2024, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet looks to complete annual bridge drain training.

Annual cleaning of bridge drains not only helps keep the bridge safe for motorists during inclement weather by directing rain away from the travel lanes, keeping those drains clear also helps to maintain the structural integrity of the bridge by removing road salt and other substances that can damage concrete and metal.

Lane restrictions will be in place this morning, but transportation engineers hope to have the project completed by noon. Work on the southbound lane is already finished.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic on the northbound bridge. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment and personnel to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
