Connie Sue Higgs (Lykins) Bivens

 

Connie Sue Higgs (Lykins) Bivens, age 60, of Henderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 10:30 p.m. on April 13, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center after a brief illness. Connie was known by her family and friends as the life of any party with her infectious smile and laughter. She never met a stranger and wanted everyone to feel as loved as she was. Connie was a dental assistant for more than 20 years at offices in Henderson and Evansville. During the Christmas season of 2022, she was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of seeing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New York City. Connie’s love for her family, children, and grandchildren was unwavering. Her spirit will be deeply missed by those who have ever crossed paths with her.

 

Connie was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jesse and Thelma Wiltshire, Gastel Higgs, and Elizabeth Pinkston.

 

Connie is survived by her husband of 10 years, Jackie Bivens; children: Josh Snyder, Kaylie Lykins, Brian Bivens (Megan), and Bayli Bivens; parents Billy Joe and Dioka Sue Higgs; brothers Ricky Wayne Higgs and Danny Ray Higgs; grandchildren: Kenley Croxton, Ella Snyder, Easton Snyder, Aiden Bivens, Ethan Bivens, Allyson Bivens, and Jaylin Russ; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and her bestie of 50 years Ronda (Hess) Eaton.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Connie’s Life Celebration from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday starting at 10:00 a.m. at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the funeral home with Pastor Jordan Kreisle officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY.

Pallbearers will be: Danny Higgs, Josh Snyder, Donnie Baggett, Jim Eaton, David Eaton, and Gary Higgs. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brian Bivens, Aiden Bivens, Ethan Bivens, and Cody Maxwell.

Peggy Sue Riggs

 

Peggy Sue Riggs, age 86, of Henderson, KY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at  10:41 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024.

 

Peggy was a dynamic singer. She was part of the well-known and well-loved gospel group, The Vocalystics. For three decades, the group could be heard on the radio, seen on tv, and enjoyed live as they traveled around the tristate and beyond. Peggy was also very successful selling Tupperware for 16 years. She was a loving and loyal caretaker of her family. From her days as a newlywed making pie for her man all the way to cooking anything the grandbabies asked for, Peggy joyfully embraced her roles as wife, mother, and ma. Nothing gave her greater happiness than serving her Lord and being with her family, and Peggy was blessed to do both.

 

In addition to her parents, Charles C. and Bertie Riggs, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Lynn Riggs Lacer and great grandson Roman Kellough.

 

Peggy is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 68 years, James Lyndal Riggs; grandchildren Chasidy Todd and Matthew Kellough; great grandchildren: Logan Parrish, Austin Parrish, Brittany Parrish, Alexus Kellough, and Landon Kellough; great great grandchildren: Elise, Michael, Emma, Sydney Lynn (Cindy Lynn’s namesake), Addison, Laken, Brycen, Autumn, and Aizen.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Peggy’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Airline Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Entombment will follow at Fairmont Cemetery Mausoleum in Henderson, KY.
