HCHS names new athletic director

Henderson County High School has announced Nathan Grace as the school’s new athletic director.

Grace has been an educator since 1999 and has served as a teacher, coach, associate athletic director, and guidance counselor.

Grace is a 1993 graduate of Henderson County High School and 1999 graduate of Murray State University. He earned a Masters in School Counseling from Murray State University and a Rank 1 in Counseling from Western Kentucky University.

Grace shared his gratitude about this new position.

“This is a very exciting opportunity and professional journey that I am ready to undertake,” he said. “I want to thank Principal Amber Thomas for her confidence in me. I would also like to acknowledge Dr. Lawson, Mr. Ryan Reusch, and the search committee as well for their time and input in this process of transition. I’m blessed to have a supportive family that has shown me that trust in God and hard work will provide great rewards. One of my first tasks will be to continue to build upon the culture, traditions, and high expectations of our amazing school and district. Mark Andrews has set the bar very high for anyone who would come into the position. Go Colonels, Charge On!”

Grace will be replacing current Athletic Director Mark Andrews who will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Henderson County High School Principal Amber Thomas noted, “Henderson County High School is honored to have Nathan Grace serve as the new Athletic Director.  Grace is a long-time Henderson native with a strong history of working with student-athletes in his roles as teacher, school counselor, and assistant athletic director. Mr. Grace’s commitment and the strong relationships he has built with the community will continue moving HCHS Athletics to the next level.”

Grace and his wife Jessica reside in Henderson County and have two sons.
