The Henderson County Lady Colonels were at home last night at North Field facing off against the Webster County Lady Trojans in the second 6th District game of the regular season.

In the bottom of the 1st inning, the Lady Colonels would score on a 2 out RBI double by junior pitcher Anna Kemp to give the Lady Colonels an early 1-0 lead over the Lady Trojans heading into the top of the 2nd.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Lady Colonels would score 2 runs on 2 RBI singles, one from sophomore Mackenzie Burczyk and one from senior left fielder Alyse Rollings, to extend the Lady Colonels lead to 3-0 heading into the top of the 3rd.

In bottom of the 3rd inning, the Lady Colonels would score 2 runs, one on an error and the other on a RBI single by sophomore second baseman Ayden Bennett, to push the Lady Colonels lead to 5-0 heading into the top of the 4th.

In bottom of the 4th inning, the Lady Colonels would score 4 runs, one run on a solo run home run by senior left fielder Alyse Rollings, one run on a RBI double by senior catcher Hallie McCracken, one run on a RBI single from sophomore second baseman Ayden Bennett, and one run on a RBI double by freshman right fielder Saniya Shields, as the Lady Colonels would extend their lead to 9-0 heading into the top of the 5th.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Lady Colonels would walk it off on a ground out RBI by freshman shortstop Maggie Grogan to give the Lady Colonels a 10-0 run rule win over the Lady Trojans in 6 innings played. The Lady Colonels improve to (17-2) on the season while the Lady Trojans fall to (15-8).

Lady Colonel’s senior left fielder Alyse Rollings was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI’s senior first baseman Taylor Troutman was 2 for 4 with a double. Sophomore second baseman Ayden Bennett was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s while freshman right fielder Saniya Shields was 2 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI on the night.

Lady Colonels junior pitcher Anna Kemp in 6 innings allowed 0 hits while walking 0 batters and recording 8 strikeouts on the night.

As a team, the Lady Colonels scored 10 runs and recorded 13 hits, 9 RBI’s, 4 doubles, 1 home run, 8 stolen bases, and committed 0 errors on the night.

As a team, the Lady Trojans scored 0 runs, recorded 0 hits, and committed 5 errors on the night.

The Henderson County Lady Colonels next game will be tonight against the Christian County Lady Colonels in Hopkinsville with the first pitch set for 6:00 P.M.
