The Henderson County Colonels were at home last night at B.T. Wayne Field facing off against the Webster County Trojans in a 6th District rivalry game.

In the bottom of the 1st inning, the Colonels would score on a RBI single by junior third baseman Cooper Vowels to give the Colonels an early 1-0 lead heading into the top of the 2nd.

In the top of the 2nd and the top of the 3rd inning, Colonels senior pitcher Reed Rheinhardt would strike out the side both time, as the Colonels would hold a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 3rd.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Colonels would score on a RBI ground out by senior designated hitter Paxton Gardner to extend the Colonels lead to 2-0 heading into the top of the 5th.

In the top of the 5th inning, Reed Rheinhardt would strike out the side for a 3rd time in the game as the Colonels held a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, the Colonels would score on back to back RBI singles, one from senior right fielder Corben Throgmorton and one from senior catcher Jayce Hicks, as well as a sacrifice fly out RBI by junior third baseman Cooper Vowels to give the Colonels a 5-0 lead heading into the top of the 6th.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Colonels would score on a 2 out RBI single by senior shortstop Alec Satterfield to extend the Colonels lead to 6-0 heading into the top of the 7th.

Heading into the top of the 7th inning, Colonels senior pitcher Reed Rheinhardt would have a no hitter going but with 1 out away from recording the no hitter, Rheinhardt would give up a single and a fielders choice before a fly out to Colonels senior left fielder Max Thompson recorded the final out and the Colonels would come away with a 6-0 shutout win over the Webster County Trojans. The Colonels improve to (9-16) on the season while the Trojans fall to (9-9).

Colonel’s offense was led by senior shortstop Alec Satterfield was 2 for 3 with an RBI while junior third baseman Cooper Vowels was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s on the night.

Colonels senior pitcher Reed Rheinhardt in 7 innings allowed 2 hits while walking only 1 batter and recorded 14 strikeouts on the night.

As a team, the Colonels scored 6 runs and recorded 7 hits, 4 RBI’s, 7 stolen bases, and committed 0 errors on the night.

As a team, the Trojans scored 1 run and recorded 7 hits, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases, and committed 1 error on the night.

The Colonels next game will be tonight against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons in Henderson at B.T. Wayne Field with first pitch set for 5:30 P.M.
