MADISONVILLE, Ky. (May 6, 2024) – Inspectors with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued an emergency closure of the Canoe Creek Bridge on Clay Street (Kentucky 812) in Henderson on Monday.
Built in 1983, the bridge is utilized by around 5,779 vehicles each day.
The length of the closure is indefinite while Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers examine possible deterioration issue with the bridge’s steel substructure.
The nearest bypass of the bridge would be via Washington Street (Kentucky 2098), which can be reached by taking Hicks Street on the west side of the bridge or Kentucky 2084 on the eastern side.
