Several area schools are dismissing early this afternoon due to the National Weather Service’s prediction for severe weather to impact our area Wednesday afternoon.
Henderson County Schools said it will be dismissing early so all the district’s school buses will be safely off the road before severe weather starts.
The Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center and all elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Secondary schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
There will be no after-school activities or events.
Riverview School in Henderson is also dismissing at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Webster County Schools will dismiss at noon Wednesday. All after-school activities have been canceled.
Union County Public Schools last said on social media that it was closely monitoring the weather forecast but has not announced an early dismissal.
