Beck files to run for Henderson City Commission

HENDERSON, KY — November 9, 2025 — Community leader and nonprofit founder Cooper Beck has officially announced his candidacy for one of the at-large seats on the Henderson City Commission in the 2026 election.

Beck, a lifelong Hendersonian, brings a track record of service, collaboration, and grassroots action to the race, according to a news release. He currently serves in dual roles as the Executive Director of Henderson KY Pride Inc. and the Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Liaison for Elevate Corporate & Career Services. Beck also sits on multiple boards, including the Henderson County Human Rights Commission, Matthew 25 HIV/AIDS Services, and Leadership Everyone

“I’m running because I believe Henderson’s future should be built with everyone in mind,” said Beck. “This campaign is about strengthening neighborhoods, increasing transparency, and making sure every resident — across every block — feels seen, heard, and included.”

Beck’s campaign, themed “A Henderson for Everyone,” is focused on fighting for practical, people-centered priorities:

  • Safe & Strong Neighborhoods by supporting first responders through fair pay, investing in reliable infrastructure, and approaching public safety and public health as connected.

  • Economic Growth & Opportunity by backing small businesses and entrepreneurs and encouraging investment in high-potential areas.

  • Youth Engagement by establishing a Youth Advisory Commission and supporting efforts to keep young people involved and invested in Henderson.

  • Transparent & Accessible Government by hosting neighborhood town halls, sharing clear updates, and advocating for a public “people’s budget” to track city spending.

  • Smart, Inclusive City Planning by continuing to push for affordable housing, zoning reform, and long-term strategies guided by community input.

“This moment calls for leadership that listens first, builds partnerships, and puts people at the center,” said Beck. “I won’t pretend to have all the answers — but I will always ask the right questions, stay grounded in our values, and fight for a Henderson that works for everyone.”

The primary election is in May 2026, with the general election in November.
