A mid-morning altercation at a westside business led to a felony arrest after a driver reportedly pointed a handgun at another motorist during a dispute.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Royal Car Wash on Pearl Drive for a report of an individual brandishing a firearm, according to a news release.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a disagreement had occurred between two drivers involving entry and exit from the car wash driveway.
According to initial reports, the victim was attempting to leave the car wash when the suspect approached, unable to enter due to the driveway being blocked.
The exchange escalated from a verbal dispute to a criminal incident when the suspect allegedly produced a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim.
The victim quickly drove to a nearby parking lot and called 911, while the suspect fled the scene.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect a short time later. A firearm was recovered during the investigation.
The suspect, Duane Dollison, 56, of Evansville, was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail. Â Dollison has been charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, which is a felony.
